Matthew Lunn

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Matthew is a strategic and commercial Finance Executive. He has significant experience in Corporate Finance across Investment Banking, Private Equity and Professional Services environments. Prior to joining the Group in 2016, he was General Manager of Corporate Development with Aligned Resources Group (Private Equity Investment Company). Prior to that, Matthew worked with Ernst & Young’s Australian mergers and acquisitions team. Matthew relocated to Australia from the UK in 2010, where he worked in London for over 9 years, latterly with Vantis Corporate Finance and Dresdner Kleinwort Investment Bank where he focused on M&A and Private Equity Advisory. Matthew is a UK Chartered Accountant and CFq designation holder (ICAEW’s Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance).

Nick Carnell

Executive General Manager – Johns Lyng Group

Nick is the Executive General Manager of the Group. With a strong history in leading the Group’s Insurance Building and Restoration Services division’s operational and financial performance for the last 4 years, Nick now has oversight of the entire Group’s operational and financial performance. With over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, Nick has significant experience in all facets of construction along with a Oxford Executive Diploma in Financial Strategy from Oxford University. Nick has implemented a variety of successful and innovative business solutions along with creating and nurturing new industry relationships. Nick’s commitment, dedication and leadership drives each brand’s success.

John McPhee

Executive General Manager Finance

John joined the Group in 2006, he is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and brings over 30 years’ experience in the finance and construction industries. John runs the Group’s day-to-day finance and accounting function including the management of a broad array of commercial and operational matters. John’s financial acumen and expertise are important to the Group’s financial strength, cash flow planning and financial management.

Joshua Barnes

Executive General Manager – Insurance Brands

Josh joined Johns Lyng Group in March 2012 as a Senior Supervisor with his talent identified early progressing him quickly within the business to Construction Manager of Queensland, then to Operations Manager in September 2015 and to now Executive General Manager of Insurance Brands. Thus giving Josh a fundamental understanding of the requirements from the ground up. Josh offers an alternative insight and strong foundation of industry knowledge across all aspects of Johns Lyng Group.

Josh also is an open classed licensed builder and has an Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction, Josh has successfully and strategically managed numerous major Catastrophe events across Australia ranging from Cyclone Yasi to the wide spread East Coast low weather events.

Daniel Meiklejohn

Executive General Manager – Commercial Brands

Daniel is the Executive General Manager of the Groups Commercial Brands and is a high impact, hands on Manager who uses his positive and non-adversarial approach in maximising performance outcomes and resolving the most complex of scenarios.

With nearly 20 years’ Construction experience and having worked in most States across the Country, Daniel has delivered and overseen some of the country’s most highly awarded and significant projects, being at the helm of delivering several construction industry firsts of both National and International relevance.

Having worked in all Industry Sectors and on almost every scale of project, Daniel’s technical knowledge and know how is a great asset to the Johns Lyng Group and to that of our Clients.

With a passion for timely and high quality delivery, coupled with a razor-sharp focus on customer service, Daniel leads by the ethos that a satisfied customer today is the key to the success of the business tomorrow and into the future.


Philippa (Pip) Turnbull

Executive General Manager - Business Development & Marketing

Pip joined the Group in early 2014 as General Manager of Business Development and Marketing. With a background in events management and marketing spanning more than a decade, Pip has worked on major projects and campaigns for a range of clients across various fields. This includes BHP Billiton’s 2008 Olympic Project Team, managing community events designed to strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders globally.

Pip has been a very dynamic and driven member of the leadership team at Johns Lyng Group for many years and has been influential in winning new customers and developing strong and sustainable relationships. Her deep knowledge of Johns Lyng’s client base and markets more generally adds important value to the Board.

Mark Baratta

Managing Director, Trump Floorcoverings

With almost two decades working with Trump Floorcoverings, Mark has a wealth of knowledge in estimating, contracting and client management. During his time at Trump Floorcoverings, Mark worked his way from the Estimating Team to Senior Management, ultimately leading the Trump Floorcoverings team in all facets of business operations. In his current role, Mark focuses on national growth of the Trump business.


Paul Folkard

State Manager, JLG New South Wales

Paul joined the Group in 2011 as State Manager (NSW). Prior to this, Paul worked in the commercial construction industry for over 10 years in both Australia and the UK in tier 2 construction companies delivering a range of projects across the retail, education, residential and refurbishment sectors. He holds formal qualifications with a Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons) as well as being a Licensed Builder in NSW, ACT and QLD. Paul has led the growth across NSW over the last 6 years. With an extensive network across the wider insurance industry, Paul is a strong leader who is well respected by his staff and peers. Paul is a key part of the Group’s senior management team.

Tyson Barber

State Manager VIC & TAS

Tyson is State Manager of the Group’s Victorian & Tasmanian Insurance Brands & joined the group in 2010. Tyson was recognised by the Group’s leaders for having built a strong foundation of leadership qualities via his approach to people and his years’ experience within the Building Services industry. Tyson was responsible for delivering extensive works on behalf of the Asbestos Reinstatement, Make Safe, and Reinstatement and Preventative Maintenance Programs, across 1536 open school sites and 200 additional sites for the Victorian Schools Building Authority. Tyson’s an experienced and motivated construction industry professional with over 8 years project management experience delivering Public Infrastructure projects and programs and demonstrated results in primarily program delivery, budget management, risk mitigation and customer service outcomes. Tyson is responsible for overseeing the day to day Operational & Strategic Management of the Southern Regions Insurance Building and Restoration divisions. With over 15,000 claims registered annually, the Southern Region is the Groups most established Operation servicing an extensive client base across all Metro and Regional postcodes.
